The Family Tree leads Maryland in preventing child abuse, connects caring communities, and builds strong families to improve society for generations. As the Maryland chapter of Parents Anonymous®, Prevent Child Abuse America and The National Exchange Club, we nurture hope where there may be none and give it room to grow and flourish.
Through treatment programs like Childhelp Advocacy Centers and Childhelp Group Homes designed to help children already affected by child abuse, and prevention programs like Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe designed to educate children and aid in prevention, we can help change the lives of many.
At Prevent Child Abuse America® , we are proud that 94 cents of every dollar we spend goes directly towards programs that help children and families thrive. Founded in 1972 in Chicago, Prevent Child Abuse America works to promote the healthy development of children and prevent child abuse before it can occur in order to help children to grow up and contribute in their communities. Our 50 state Chapter Network works every day to promote the kind of strategies and activities that make a difference locally as well as nationally and we help nearly 100,000 families a year through our signature Healthy Families America program.
The National Child Abuse Coalition was formed in 1981 by a group of national voluntary and professional organizations. The Coalition embodies a commitment to coordinate advocacy efforts on behalf of abused and neglected children. The National Child Abuse Coalition has become a resource for advocacy and a focal point for leadership and strategy on legislative issues in child maltreatment.
